Dog-Friendly Amenities
Hunston Mill charges no extra pet fee for dogs, a policy that sets it apart from most dog-friendly hotels. A whole garden is dedicated to dogs for off-leash running, and some cottages come with their own private enclosed gardens. Dog poo bins and poo bags are provided around the grounds, and multiple sizes of dog bowls are stored in the kitchen cupboards.
Cottages & Historic Character
The property dates back to around 1850, originally a windmill with stables and an engine house, converted into five separate apartments in the 1960s. Each cottage has a distinct personality: Coach offers a two-bedroom layout with a courtyard, Stable has two bedrooms and an enclosed garden, and Garden is a two-bedroom single-storey retreat with its own enclosed outdoor area. Mill Top is a first-floor one-bedroom apartment accessed by an external staircase, while Millstone is a ground-floor apartment with access to an enclosed garden.
Grounds & Outdoor Facilities
The site offers a garden with views across fields and a golf course, plus a mini golf course for guests. Kids' outdoor play equipment is available on the property. Outdoor ice machine, secure dog field, and well-maintained fences and gates are provided throughout the grounds.
Location & Local Access
Hunston Mill sits a 10-minute drive from West Wittering Beach and less than 15 minutes from Chichester city centre. The property is on a busy road with no pavement, so guests need a car to reach local walks, pubs, and beaches. Goodwood and several cosy pubs are within a 10-minute drive.
Self-Catering Provisions & Extras
Each kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and Royal Worcester crockery. On arrival, guests find tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, and bathroom essentials such as shampoo. The owners provide extra bedding, pillows, and blankets in the wardrobes.
